Dr. Jim White,
Hopefully, you are still online. I'm James Robet White and have relatives that date to early 1700's in VA. My first documented grandfather was James Taylor White. At that time he lived in what is now Culpeper Co., VA, but in the late 1750's he moved his family to SC. Most of his family then later moved to NC, TN, MS, LA and TX.
What I find interesting is that your family was using Taylor as a second name...just as James Taylor White. That tradition has been followed by my family to the current generation.
He had a brother named William that was a constable in Orange County, VA. I don't have info on him, but he had family.
Common names in our branch of the White family are William, James, Jesse, Reuben, Henry, Anthony, George, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah,
Ann and others. William, James, Jesse, Reuben, John and George were most commonly used...and frequently with second name of Taylor.
I have documented info on my branch of the White family to about 1742 and would be happy to share, if you think there might be a connection.
