Thank you for your generous offering! I would be very interested if there might be information on my 2nd great grandfather Thomas Anderson Gentry and also any info on a grandson (w/b my grand uncle) James Anderson Gentry who was son of Walter Barton & Mary E (Giannini) Gentry.

Thomas was born in Buckingham to John Henry & Jane (Fulcher) Gentry in Mar 1850. Thomas married Mary Elizabeth Bailey in Albemarle 19 Nov 1892 (I do have copy of the certificate). Thomas died sometime after the Apr 1910 census where they are shown renting on Sand Road in Scottsville and working for the soapstone mill. Thomas and Mary were renting in the Court House Precinct in the 1900 census and he was working at Woolen Mill then. Both are buried in Slate Hill Cemetry only marked with year. Wondering if there is any info on Thomas' death and cause.

As for James Anderson his father Walter B was a son of Thomas A & Mary E. Gentry. My grandmother always told a story of James Anderson as being found dead in his car downtown. Though it was suspicious nothing came out of it. My grandmother said that James played baseball and had just been chosen to play with the Wash Senators but never got a chance to play the first game with them. His marker only reads James Anderson 1905-1928 in Riverview Cem. Wonder if there are any news clips or death information.
