Does anyone know where this Albemarle County cabin is? The picture should be attached. I'm visiting Albemarle this next weekend and hope to see it. It's the childhood home of my gr gr grandmother, Emma Margaret Lamb (who married George T Shiflett and moved to my home state of Missouri). Her parents were Civil War soldier Edward Montgomery Lamb, who might have built it, and Artelia C. Wood. It was possibly built ca 1870 and was standing as recently as 1997, when this pic was supposedly taken.
The cabin is in what was called the White Hall District in 1880. Living near this cabin then were the families of Richard Bruce, Horace Bruce, Joseph Shiflett, Caroline Head, John Bruce and Arias Long.
In 1900, it was now called the Blackwells Precinct, but seems to be the same place. Living closeby in 1900 were Horace Bruce, John Bruce, David Patterson, Josephine Wood, Martin Davis and Thomas Shiflett. Thanks for reading. I would so much appreciate any help finding this !!!!!
