Michael B. Stevens, 22, of Austin and formerly of San Angelo, passed away Sunday, April 5, 1998, in Austin. Service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Michael was born April 16, 1975, in Midland to Robert C. and Connie L. Stevens. Michael was a resident of Austin for three years and a member of Southland Baptist Church. Michael was a member of the San Angelo Police Explorers from 1991-1993. He graduated from Central High School in 1993 and from Scott & White Paramedic Training in 1996. Michael was employed with the Travis County Emergency Service, Company One, as a fireman-engineer and paramedic. He received numerous awards for service, valor and lifesaving. Michael was preceded in death by his father on Jan. 11, 1995. Survivors include his son, Bradley Wayne Stevens of San Angelo; his mother, Connie L. Stevens and stepfather, Claude R. Wilson, of San Angelo; two brothers, Phillip Brandon Elliott of Arlington and Robert Doyle Stevens of Midland; one sister, Cynthia Scarlett Burkhart of Bedford; his grandmother, Jewel C. Olsen of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Stevens will receive a full honor escort from Austin to San Angelo, by his fellow firefighters of Company One Travis County Emergency Service who will also serve as pallbearers.
