I am researching the James F. Morris family. I found them in 1900 Census of Rusk County Texas Ed. 80, Image 6
Morris, James F. Head WM M3 England
Morris, Margaret A. Wife WF Dec 1848 51 M3 1/1Miss.
Morris, Chas Son WM Jul 1892 7 S Texas
Morris, Annie Dau WF Jan 1896 4 S Texas
Morris, Willie Son WM Aug 1897 2 S Texas
Lofton, Epsie Dau WF Sep 1879 20 S Texas
This appears to be James' 2nd marriage since beside Margaret's name it is documented she had 1 child and 1 child living, being Willie her only child.
Epsie Lofton living in household listed as daughter. Not sure about this, but she could be a daughter from James' first marriage, having married a Lofton, but she is listed as single, not widowed or divorced? Or she could be Margaret's child from her first marriage.
James' birth month, year and age was not on this census, but his tombstone (not proven to be reliable yet) has born on 1 Apr 1841 and died 25 Nov 1915.
Does anyone recognize this family as being part of yours? Or does anyone have the 1880 US Census Index and can see where James F. Morris might have been at that time??
I have the children showing in census above traced down to present day, but have had a hard time tracing James any further back than this census.
This census has him being born in England, his father and mother born in Ireland.
Margaret, his wife, is buried next to him at Davis Cemetery, Henderson Texas, Rusk County. Her tombstone does not match this census.
On her tombstone is, Margaret Hardy Morris b 1865 d 1/21/1900.
If anyone can help, I really would appreciate it greatly.
