Funeral services were conducted for Glen Mettauer of Chireno Sunday in Chireno United Methodist Church with interment in Chireno Lower Cemetery. The Rev. Edwin McDaniel, pastor of Perritte Memorial United Methodist Church and Chireno's United Methodist Church, officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. Charles Hancock, pastor of chireno Baptist Church.

Mr. Mettauer died last Friday in Lufkin Memorial Hospital. He was born March 4, 1907 in Chireno and has been a resident there all his life. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a retired rancher. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cynthia Sparks Mettauer of Chireno, two daughters, Mrs. Linda Muse of Chireno and Mrs. Glenda Keel of Hemphill; his father W. P. Mettauer of San Augustine; two brothers, Douglass Mettauer of Melrose and McNeil Mettauer of San Augustine, three sisters, Mrs. Pete McKenzie of Hungerford, Tex, Mrs. Allen Seale of San Augustine, and Mrs. John Arnold of Dallas; and seven grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Murray Hall, Hollis Posey, McAllister Smith, Woodrow Parmer, Percy Wilson, Dutch Murray, Jack Sowell and Kenneth Garrett.

Wyman-Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine was in charge of arrangements.
