FORT WORTH -- Joseph Clinton Bailey, 90, a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Earnest Bailey will officiate. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Tommy Williams, Larry Bailey, Charles Bailey, Richard Bailey, Clifford Williams, Lonnie Applegate, Jim Cunningham and Mike McMann.
Joseph Clinton Bailey was born June 12, 1910, between Cameron and Rosebud. He moved to Fort Worth at the age of 18 and married Ruth Parten Sept. 16, 1933. He and Ruth were married for 65 years and resided together in Haltom City until her passing in 1998. Joe retired from Central Freight Lines after 55 1/2 years. He was a manager and one of the first drivers in Fort Worth and one of four people in the exclusive "Central Half Century Club." Words cannot convey the love and respect he brought into his family's life or the grief and pain felt due to his passing.
Survivors: Sons, Dan Bailey and wife, Lavonia, of Burleson, Bill Bailey and wife, Linda, of Arlington; daughter, Della Bailey of Arlington; granddaughter, Talana Dunson and husband, Landon; grandsons, Will Bailey and wife, Shannon, Jeff Bailey and wife, Jenny, Brandon Heath; great-grandson, Jason Duncan; great-granddaughter, Courtney Bailey; brothers, Emmett, Ellis, George and Sid Bailey.
