Looking for any information on the ancestry of Dr. James G (Giles or Gillenwater)Wright and his wife Sarah (Sallie)Caruthers? He could have likely been born in Ala., NC or SC before 1806 and was married in Tn. He petitioned the Mexican Govt. for entry into Texas Territory in 1830. James G Wright died in Lamar County sometime in the spring of 1843. By the time his will was probated 6 months later, his wife Sarah Caruthers was married to Thomas J. Newburn(Newbern). She died by June of 1850 and the four Wright children were "farmed out." Josephine A. Wright m. James S. Chisum and is supposed to have stayed with the prominent George Wright family of Paris. Marmaduke G. Wright m. Sarah Elizabeth Winsett, remained in Lamar County. Robert Washington Wright m. Arcanie E. Gober and is alleged to have bean reared by the Mathias Neal family. William Crow Wright b. 1837 m. Julia Ann Amanda Gober, would have only been 13 years old, where did he go before ending up in Denton County with brother Robert? Did James G. Wright come to Texas with brother William, or any other siblings? Are my Wright's related to the Lamar County Wright's? Is there a connection to James G. Wright m. Sallie B. Sheppard in 1880 and their son William Crow Wright b. 1881? John Wesley Gober (father of Julia and Arcanie) and their related families(about 40 people), arrived in 16 wagons by 1852, ended up going to Honey Grove for 3 years before ending up in Denton County. If any of this seems familiar, or you recognize these names, I would definitely like to hear from you! My 2nd cousin, my brother and myself are looking to find and document as much of our family tree as possible so that the next generation does not have to piece it together. I have most of Gober Camp Wright line and more. Willing to share what I have and learn what I can. Thanks!
