Curious to know if anyone has information regarding the family of Merritt Meeks and his wife Nancy "Sarah" Burden? Merritt died in 1882 in Junction City, Kimble Co., and was buried in Pioneer Cemetery in North Llano, Kimble Co. His wife Sarah died in 1883 in Kimble Co., and is buried next to her husband.
At least one son followed his parents into Kimble Co., that son being William "Bill" Meeks. The other children settled in various counties throughout Texas.

Merritt Meeks and his wife should be listed in the 1880 census of Kimble Co., but as of yet, I have had no luck in locating them? Their son, William, however, is present?

I am also looking for information on Dora Sessom Kirkland, the granddaughter of Merritt Meeks. Dora's father, David Sessom, was killed circa 1870 when Dora was only a small child, and whether or not this was a factor in her decisions, Dora married young (approx. 12 years of age), and had her first child before the age of 13. According to Dora's sister, Lucy Sessom Rasmussen, Dora married Aaron Kirkland in Junction City, Kimble Co. Lucy states that Dora and Aaron were the first couple married in the city, and that they were married by a Doctor Spears. Does anyone have information related to this??

Also, Dora and Lucy's mother, Mary Meeks Sessom, remarried after the death of her first husband, to John William Miller, who apparently taught school in Junction City. Do any records survive from this time??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
