Robert Wyres, b ca 1810 in Virginia, d after 1880 in Falls County, Texas--came to Texas when it was Mexico in 1830. He served with the Texas Army, and fought in the Battle of San Jacinto, where he was wounded.

About 1834, Robert Wyres was married in Texas to Harriett Shipp, b ca 1816 in Alabama, d after 1880 in Falls County, Texas. Robert and Harriett lived in Harris County until the 1850's when the resettled in Falls County, Texas. They were the parents of twelve children:

Victor Wyres, b 1835--married ca 1856 to Elizabeth E. Ray, b ca 1838 in Alabama--a daughter of Dempsey L. and N. J(Carter) Ray, who were residing in Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas in 1860. They had five children: George W. Wyres, b ca 1857--married July 22, 1875 to Louisa Eliza Walker, b 1859 in Falls County, Texas--a daughter of James Madison and Louisa Elizabeth(Dial)Walker; Mary J. Wyres, b ca 1859 in Falls County-- married December 29, 1875 to John Davis Walker, b 1851 in Houston County, Texas--a son of James Madison and Louisa Elizabeth(Dial) Walker; Joseph Shipp Wyres, b ca 1861 in Falls County, Texas, d March 1939 in Brady, Texas--married July 18, 1883 to Mrs. Emma(Miers) Allen, d April 23, 1939 in Brady Texas--a daughter of John C. and Louisa Miers, and had Dink Wyres, Doc Wyres who married January 14, 1901 to Mary McPherson, Bus Wyres who married Johnnie Sparks, and killed his cousin, John Richey--a son of Daniel Boone and Betty(Walker) Richey, Jr., and Roy Wyres who survived his parents; Victor Wyres, Jr. b 1863; and Delia Wyres, b 1867.

Sophia Wyres, b 1837 in Texas--married January 9, 1859 in Falls County to Washington C. Bryant. They had five children: Washington Bryant, Jr. who moved to West Texas and became a large land owner and rancher; Julia Bryant; John Bryant, Frances Bryant; and Laura Bryant.

America Wyres, b 1839 in Texas--married ca 1862 to George Ray, b 1840, d ca 1868 as a result of being crushed by a falling tree. They had two daughter; Alice Wyres, b July 4, 1863, d March 16, d March 16, 1931 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin--married first to William T. Reed, b June 14, 1859, d July 28, 1883, and married second to a Mr. Beaty; and Adele Ray, b 1866-- no further information.

Sarah F. Wyres, b 1841 in Texas--married January 11, 1874 in Falls County, Texas to W. H. Bunnell.

Robert Wyres, Jr., b ca 1843 in Texas, died in the 1860's.

Martha Virginia Wyres, b 1844--married December 15, 1868 in Falls County, Texas to Troy Leroy Ray, b ca 1838--a son ofDempsey L. and N. J.(Carter)Ray.

Mary Missouri Wyres, b 1846 in Texas--no further information.

James Wyres, b Auguat 2, 1847 in Texas, d September 28,1883 and buried in Calvary Cemetery--married a Letha Cross, b 1856. Their children included Lee Wyres; James Wyres, Jr., ; and a daughter, Cora Wyres.

Daniel Wyres, b 1850--no further information

David Wyres, b 1851-- died unmarried.

Frances Wyres, b 1852--married L. T. Gilstrap.

Alice Alabama Wyres(called her "Allie"), b 1854--married Andrew Gilstrap.
