First, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY you will find a Will or "probate" record. Not because they are probably lost, but because they probably never existed. An obituary is also HIGHLY unlikely, as obituaries were not published in 1859 to the type that you would read today. Today's "true" obituary did not come into being until newsprint became widely a

The 1850 Census of:
--Hunt County, Texas
Gabriel Keith, age 31, born in Kentucky, farmer
wife Suquetha (as transcribed), age 29, also children
-----Info on him:
--Subdivision 16, Anderson Co, TN
Gabriel Keith, born about 1810 in North Carolina
--Buncombe Co, NC
G. P. Keith, born about 1847 in TN

This early court record shows a Nicodemus Keith, also with co-defendant John Burdin (your "Borden" connection?)

Margaret Borden married Nicodemus Keith of Knoxville

The US and International Marriage Records:
Betsy Burton, married Nicodemus Keith, she of IR (Ireland) and he of unnamed, no further records. Marriage in Tennessee.

On, I find about 128 family trees containing "Judge Nicodemus Keith" married to Margaret Peggy Borden. Some of the trees identify their marriage as "25 April 1954," a CLEAR evidence of copying "facts" from other posted family trees.

One tree:
shows the marriage about 1776 in Knoxville. One of the children was identified as George Stephen Keith, born 1789 in Knox Co, TN, died 18 Aug 1859 in Erath Co, TX. George had married Rebecca Crane, born 1798, no death data. THEY were the parents of Gabriel G. Keith, born 1819 as identified above.

As I...and the other "responder", are in Washington State and have no access or knowledge of local records needed... I will also send you info offlist.
