George Belvin Hardcastle, 83, died May 10 at his residence. Funeral services were held at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Pearl Cemetery. The Revs. Danny Crosby and John Ditty officiated.
Mr. Hardcastle was born July 9, 1902 in Milam County, the son of the late G.W. and Mary Hardcastle. He was raised in Coryell County and married Miss Imogene Walker on Feb. 17, 1926. He formerly operated a grocery business in Ireland. He was a retired farmer, a 30-year board member of the Coryell County Farm Bureau and a former board member of the Coryell Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Levita Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hardcastle, who died in 1969.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Belva Jean Phillips of Austin; one son, George Walker Hardcastle of California; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral services were Glynda Marie Nelson, Linda Kay Stokesberry, Michael R. Phillips, John B. Phillips, Stephenie L. Phillips and Laura Marie Eddy.
