Will Voss was the business manager for Mabel (Doss) Day Lea. He sent in the name of Daylea (as opposed to Leaday) for the postoffice. This name was not accepted by the USPS and the Voss name was assigned. Voss was not postmaster, however, as Henry T. Morgan became the first postmaster in April 1904. The Leaday post office was granted a year later in April 1905.
