I am trying to find any info on Charles Hammons and King Anderson. I have found the following:
1850 Cherokee, Texas
J H Hammons 22 1828 AL
Manerva Hammons 22 1828 AL
Avis A Hammons 2 1848 AL
Sarah J Hammons 0 1850 AL

On the same page is King Henderson who married Elizabeth Hammons and Drury Earls of Jackson Co., AL. I believe Manerva's last name is Henderson, but not sure which Hendersons.
I know a lot of people show a Mary Ann Henderson married to an Evans. Manerva's husband has also been refered to as J. Hinson Hammons. Not sure if that is true. He could not have been John Hammons son of Charles Hammons and Eliza Darling because that John Hammons is still in his fathers household in the 1850 Cherokee Co., Census

Sometime between the 1850 and 1860 census J. H. Hammons died.
1860 Ozark, Missouri
Maneva Hammons 30 1830 AL
Avus A Hammons 12 1848 AL
Julius S Hammons 8 1852 TX
Mary E Hammons 5 1855 AL
Leone J Hammons 3 1857 MO
Amanda Hammons 6/12 1859 MO
William Cosno 45 1815 TN
Jane Cosno 45
Dica M Cosno 17
Mary F Cosno 15
Nancy C Cosno 13
David W Cosno 12

It looks like Manerva Hammons married again.
Missouri Marriages, 1766-1983 about Manerva Hammons
Name: Manerva Hammons
Spouse: Andrew Halford
Marriage Date: 2 Sep 1860
Location: Ozark
State: Missouri

I have not been able to find her in the 1870 census.
Have found some of her children living in Arkansas.

I have a John Hastain Hammons who was born in Alabama between 1823 - 1826. He married Sarah Barrier daughter of William Barrier and Mariah Copenhaver. John Hastain Hammons and Sarah Barrier moved to Benton Co., MO and raised a family there. In Jackson Co., AL there were two Hammons families. The Phillip Hammons line and the Warren Co., TN Hammons. I have tried tracing both lines for clues on where my John Hastain Hammons belongs. In addition I have a copy of John Hammons of Warren Co., TN lawsuit which if you haven't read is a very interesting document. I would appreciate any assitane you could give me on your Hammons and Henderson lines.
Thank you, Lynda
