That might be one of Asa's sons, but George's youngest, Alfred, was home with George at the age of 20 in 1850. Alfred and Asa apparently divided at least a portion of George's land, as the 1860 Census shows them living side-by-side.
I think from several Censuses (Censi?!?!) I determined Asa had at least 3 sons, although I have yet to discover the namae of the middle son, who was home in 1840, but gone by 1850. Faulty memory prevents me from recalling the names of the first and third sons without my notes, but I think they may have been named George and William, and I think they were born in 1830 and 1836, respectively, but that's from memory... Tandy Collins, [one of?] Asa and Alfred's older brother, also had a William (b.c. 1830, Hawkins Co, TN) and a George (b.c. 1834, Floyd Co, IN), amongst his 7 children.

P.S. - I will look the exact names/birth dates of George Collins' (b.c. 1770, VA) sons and grandchildren some time this weekend and will get back to you here with a second reply.
