PINNACLE - Harry Holbert Haynes, age 74, of 1040 Double Creek Lane, Pinnacle, NC died Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
He was born October 19, 1935 in Cannon County, TN to the late Robert Taylor Haynes & Cora Belle Dixson Haynes.
Mr. Haynes was a veteran having served in the US Army from 1958-1961 in the Army Security Agency. He served tours of duty in Southeast Asia. After coming back to the states he served in the National Security Agency in Bethesda Maryland. Mr. Haynes was the retired Director of Information Systems for the city of Titusville, Florida and a member of Brims Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lucy Gruenert Haynes of the Home; daughter & son-in-law: Deborah Haynes Woods & husband Billy Dean Woods ; Westfield, NC; son & daughter-in-law: Timothy Warren Haynes & wife Judy Madison Haynes; Deltona Fl; grandchildren: Timothy Warren Haynes II, Amy Michelle Haynes, Harry Glaves Woods, Leona Eve Woods & Kathleen Rene Woods; great-grandchild: Aubrey Ruth Haynes; sister & brother-in-law: Mary Pearl Herrington & husband Lamar Herrington; Nashville, TN; brother & sister-in-law: Henry Burton Haynes & wife Dorothy "Dot" Haynes; Birmingham, AL and several nieces & nephews in many states.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bell Haynes.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Brims Grove Baptist Church, 3509 NC 268 Hwy E, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041, conducted by Rev. Gerald Jones with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery with full military rites to be conducted by VFW Post #9436 of Pilot Mountain & Post #2019 of Mount Airy. Mr. Haynes will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Howell-Nelson Funeral Chapel of Pilot Mountain.
