I am in desperate need of help to break down one of my brick walls! Known facts:
My great-grandmother, Anna Grace Boone Cobble, was the daughter of Mary Henderson & Israel Judson Boone. They were first cousins. Mary's parents were Sarah Boone & Elias Henderson; Judson's parents were John & Betsy Moore Boone. Elias and Sarah were married March 26, 1844 in McMinn Co. The 1850 census shows Elias (35) and Sarah (25) in the 26th subdivision of Bradley Co. Living with them was John, age 70. All were listed as being born in TN. John does not appear on the 1860 census, but a son born to Elias & Sarah in 1859 was named John. Elias is still 35--love to know how he did that!--and Sarah is now 30. Elias is listed as being born in SC and Sarah in TN. They live in the 4th District, Red Clay. Elias died in Nashville in 1863 of disease contracted while serving with the Union Cavalry. To make things even more complicated, there was another John Henderson in Bradley Co around the same time--he was married to a woman named Sidney and died in 1861. His son (also John) died before he did, and that John's tombstone indicates that he was the only son and sole heir of "not my John".
If anyone has any information on "my" John Henderson, however small, I would appreciate it. I am still working my way through the files at the History Branch, but so far I've found nothing very helpful.
