If you have found the surname WEDDLE in your Union county research or in your family line, please contact me.

I do research on George A. WEDDLE but need your help. George m. Emma STOWERS ca. 1885-1888, possibly in Union county. I am trying to find any extended family members of George WEDDLE, something I have not been able to do. I suspect he was born in Illinois or Missouri, but I am not sure. If I knew who his siblings were, I could probably locate him in earlier censuses, but I have not been able to do so yet.

Family legend said that the WEDDLEs lived in "Mc Cook". Did that mean the Mc Cook Lake area, or Mc Cook county? I personally believe that it was Union county because so far my research indicates that the first children were born there. However, I am not from this area. I do not know the local nicknames for the area.

George and Emma WEDDLE lived in Union county. Ca. 1885 - 1895, when they moved to Sioux City where he began working at the Sioux City Paving Brick company. He died on the job, August 11, 1904.

The children of George and Emma WEDDLE were:

Carrie May WEDDLE, De PUE, TERRILL. (1888 - 1972) b. Elk Point, Union co., Dakota Terr.
Clara WEDDLE, McKERNAN, ROBERTS. (1890 - 1977)
Lennora Rebecca WEDDLE, SANDS. (1893 - 1989)
George Dewey WEDDLE (1898 -1989) m. Minnie STIENSTRA
Eunice WEDDLE, WELSH. (1901 - 1941)
Elmer WEDDLE (1905 - (1962) m. Olive HINKLEY

I am open to any local culture knowledge or other information that may direct my research on this brick walls line in our family.
