SD Births has Herman Robert SCHOLZ, b. 13 June 1901, Lyman Co., s/o Herman Carl SCHOLZ & Bertha Caroline KEICKBUSCH. Could Mable might have been another wife of that Herman Carl SCHOLZ? USGenWeb says that a Herman SCHOLZ died at Oacoma 16 Apr. 1953, ref. "Adv. Leader." Was that the son Herman R.?

Have you found the family on the 1900 Census? That should have the names of more children.

BLM land patents include one for Herrmann SCHOLZ, 1903, Lyman County, SD, Twp. 105 N, Range 73 W, Section 8 SE. The Census of 1930 database shows only one SCHOLZ in Lyman Co., Herman C. SCHOLZ, b. ca. 1857.

Riverview Cem., Chamberlain, Brule Co. has H. C. SCHOLZ (1850 - 1933). I found your other messages, including one in Aurora Co., SD, about Elsie, married by 1935, dau/o Herman Carl SCHOLZ. Do you have an approximate birth year for Elsie? I also Googled and found Herman C. SCHOLZ, possibly born ca. Je. 1864, immigrated in 1881. You say that the death record and tombstone differ. Can you give more information from the death certificate?

Do you know whether there were SCHOLZ relatives in Iowa? FamilySearch database has in Guttenberg, Clayton Co., IA, 1880: SCHOLZ, Charles, 39, & wf. Helena, 33, both b. Prussia. Three ch. b. WI: Hermann, 9; Anna, 8; Charles, 7; three ch. b. IA: Robert, 5; Pauline, 3; & Wm., 1. Also in household, divorced female Susana ULLRICH, 57, Prussia.
