Found guilty of Perjury
Deadwood, S.D., July 26 - Late last night the jury in the case of David R. Summers found him guilty of perjury in the famous Caddy-Russell robbery case. There are three more men to be tried for the same offense. Sentence will be pronounced on Peter C. Carberry and Summers after the trial of the other three.
I am related to Peter Carberry and I believe the Caddy they are referring to is Herbert Douglas Caddy, who is Peter's brother in law, and is shown as a prisoner in the SD penititiary in the 1900 SD census. I would love to know the details of this case, but have been unable to find anything about it. Any help would be great!
