Looking for Mayme Radle between 1900 and 1913. Mayme (full name Mary Elizabeth) applied for homestead land on 2 May 1911 in Harding Co South Dakota near the Cave Hills - Camp Crook - Karnin - St Agnes Catholic Church at Cox. It is said that she lived in Rhame, Bowman Co North Dakota and was a dressmaker. I can not find her on any 1910 federal census.
Her husband-to-be, Thomas Ableidinger homesteaded in 1907 just south of Rhame, and, after they were married in 1913, Thomas took over the homestead papers of Mayme's. They were both from the same area - Arkansaw/Durand, Pepin Co Wisconsin before hitting the Dakotas.
And if you're a Bucholz from the area, I'm assuming we're related thru the Egelands'.
Do you have any info on women homesteading by themselves down in that area? Thanks - Deanna
