There's an unknown ROWE buried in Lakeside Cem., Section 13 NE, Edgerton Twp. (north of the Spencer Quarry, east of Farmer, SD). I do not know how to find any further identification of that. Death certificates began mid-1905 in South Dakota, so it was probably for somebody why died before that.

Morris ROWE patented in Hanson Co., Twp. 101 - 57, Section 30 SE, 17 Dec. 1887. That's farther south, near Hutchinson Co.

Google for the 1900 census, Edgerton Twp., Hanson Co., SD, consecutive entries, CARR:

Wf. Flora B., b. Je. 1866, NY NY ENG, 4 ch., all living, b. SD:

SD Births, online [see site for limitations]: Horace CARR & Flora ROWE had Etta, 4 Mar. '90; Clarence, 6 Oct. '93; Joseph, 8 May 1901; Iva, 19 Jan. 1906. The only ROWE listed for Hanson Co. is Cleophas, b. 10 Oct. 1894, s/o Virginia GRIBBLE & James ROWE. / Julian CARR & Mary CLEGG had Irene, 6 Sep. 1885, & William, 29 Apr. 1893.

SD state census of 1905, Twp. 103-57, Section 22? Flora CARR, 38, said she had been in SD, 21 y. (since 1884) [FSBeta].

From 1910 through 1930, the CARR family was of Dixon Co., NE. In 1910, CARR: Horace B., 43; Flora, 43; Etta V., 20; Clarence H., 16; Agness V., 14; Joseph H., 9; Everett M., 7; Iva V., 4; Ellis, 8 mos.

Google SSDI.
Joseph H. CARR (8 May 1901 - 2 Feb. 1994, last res. Allen, Dixon, NE). Clarence CARR (6 Oct. 1893 - May 1977) last res. Sioux City, Woodbury, IA, SSN issued NE.

I don't think there has been a Methodist Church at Farmer for a long time. There was one at Fulton until fairly recently, and there is one in Alexandria. The United Methodist Conference Office is at 1331 W. University Ave., Mitchell, SD 57301.

There is an abandoned cemetery north of Fulton, Fairview Twp., Section 7 SE. We stopped there one time, but, even in May, it was too overgrown with the last year's tall grass to read any tombstones. I was told there are ten known graves there.
