From Hazleton PA Standard-Speaker
Dolores R. Hornack, 87, of Hazleton died Thursday morning at her residence.
She was born in Ringtown, daughter of the late John and Clara (Shafransky) Onuschak.
She was a member of the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph.
Prior to retiring, she was employed as a medical technologist by St. Joseph Hospital.
Dolores was a proud Penn State graduate, and enjoyed reading, traveling and visiting yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clair Stauffer; her second husband, John Hornack Jr.; and brothers, Robert and John Onuschak.
She is survived by her children, Clair Stauffer Grant and her husband, Wayne Grant, Allentown; Cheryl Blamey and her husband, Alan, Tyson, Ga.; Jacqueline Dryfoos and her husband, James, Glen Mills; and John Hornak III and his wife, Jeanie, Hazleton; two grandchildren, Madyson Hornack and Jamie Krippe; two stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; Paige Peterson, who was like a grandchild to her; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hazleton Public Library or St. Joseph Church in Dolores’ memory would be appreciated by the family.
