Elizabeth Paranick, 96, formerly of Stockton No. 6, who resided with her daughter at 695 Spring Mountain Road, Weatherly, died Monday evening at Hazleton General Hospital.

She was born in Stockton, daughter of the late John and Anna (Hudock) Mitcho.

Elizabeth was a member of the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton, where she was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Women and was an active pirohi maker in her younger days.

Prior to retiring, she was employed at the Duplan Silk Mill and last at Reed-Louit, Weatherly.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, in 2003; an infant son; and brothers and sisters, Mary Cullinan, Anna Holenichick, John, Catherine and George Mitcho.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Paulshock, Weatherly, with whom she resided; and Mary Wilkenson and her husband, Thomas, Levittown; a sister, Josephine Meister, New Brunswick, N.J.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Andrew and Kelly Paulshock, Jeff and Denise Paulshock, Missy and Kevin Walsh, Karen Tuthill, Thomas and Cindy Wilkenson, Kelly and Bill Strohecker and Anne Wilkenson; seven great-grandchildren, A.J. and Barbara Paulshock, Rebecca Paulshock, Samantha Walsh, Will and Tory Tuthill and Brittany Wilkenson; one great-great-grandchild, Brody Paulshock; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton. AMass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.

Friends and relatives may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elizabeth to the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at St. Joseph Church would be appreciated by the family.
