Stella B. Shema, 91, of Monges Street, Hazleton,
died Friday morning at St. Luke Pavilion, Hazleton, where she had been a guest for the past two months.
She was born in Hazleton, daughter of the late Joseph and Jadwiga (Kutzor) Pleban.
Stella was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton, and attended St. Joseph R.C.
Church, Hazleton, also.
Prior to retiring, she was employed in the local garment industry at Publix Shirt Corp.
Stella was an associate member of the PPL Retirees Club.
She is preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Cyril; and brothers and a sister, Andrew, Michael, Joseph “Rudy” and Wanda Mindick. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Stella is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Shema Piehota, retired Bishop Hafey teacher, and her husband, Larry, Hazleton; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542-544 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus R.C. Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
