Stella B. Shema, 91, of Monges Street, Hazleton,
died Friday morning at St. Luke Pavilion, Hazleton, where she had been a guest for the past two months.
She was born in Hazleton, daughter of the late Joseph and Jadwiga (Kutzor) Ple­ban.
Stella was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton, and attended St. Joseph R.C.
Church, Hazleton, also.
Prior to retiring, she was employed in the local gar­ment industry at Publix Shirt Corp.
Stella was an associate member of the PPL Retirees Club.
She is preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Cyril; and brothers and a sister, Andrew, Michael, Joseph “Rudy” and Wanda Mindick. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Stella is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Shema Piehota, retired Bishop Hafey teacher, and her hus­band, Larry, Hazleton; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542-544 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Buri­al will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus R.C. Church.
Interment will be in Cal­vary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sun­day from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
