Fred Neumeister
Fred Neumeister, Gordon, died Tuesday afternoon at the Ashland Hospital, following an illness of several months. He had resided in Shenandoah until four years ago, and prior to that had lived in Fountain Springs. He was a member of the Reformed Church, Ashland, and last worked at Knickerbocker Colliery. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Surviving are his widow, Anna Swerha Neumeister, formerly of Shenandoah; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Ermet, of Gordon; Mrs. Edna Cleaver, of Shamokin; six sons, Emerson, Ralph, Lamont, of Gordon and Floyd, of Frackville; Warren, of Fountain Springs, and Clair, of Philadelphia; two step-daughters, Mrs. Geo. Zitkus and Mrs. Peter Zagurski, of Shenandoah, and one step-son, George Beacher, of Shenandoah Heights; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Smith, of Deep Creek; Mrs. Grant Klinger and one brothers, John Neumeister, both of Hegins; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Saturday afternoon from the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zagurski, 114 N. Ferguson St., Shenandoah. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Melvin Walper and burial in Christ cemetery, Fountain Springs. J.A. Oravitz & Sons, Shenandoah, are in charge.

The funeral of Christian Frederick Neumeister of Fountain Springs, took place from the home of his daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zagorski, 114 North Ferguson Street, Saturday afternoon.
Services were conducted at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. Melvin Walper, pastor of the Reformed Church, Ashland, of which the deceased was a member.
The funeral was largely attended by many friends and relatives. There were numerous floral offerings.
The pallbearers were Enoch Shueback, George Williams, Joseph Zagorski, John Kima, William Nyers, and Fritz Fetterolf.
Burial was made in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
J. A. Oravitz and Sons were the funeral directors.
