Joseph Outley, aged 60, a colored man of 523 Monges street, died at 8:10 this morning at the State Hospital, where he was admitted at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He had been ill the past three weeks but his condition was not considered alarming until yesterday. He was born in Macon, Georgia and lived in this city for thirteen years, coming here from Raven Run, Schuylkill county. He was one of the oldest men in the employ of the Central Pennsylvania Quarry, Stripping and Construction Company. At the time he was taken ill he was employed at Stockton No. 7 on a stripping job. He was married four years ago in Hazleton to Miss Clara Elizabeth Douglass. He was a member of the Colored Methodist church at Pottsville. Surviving him are his wife and a niece, Mrs. Hazel Henry, of Newark, N.J., and a nephew, Levi Peterson, of Paterson, N.J. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with interment at Pottsville.
