An analysis of the tax and census records for Hellam and Lower Windsor Twp make a convincing case that the father of John Reisinger who died Sept. 18, 18786 at age 77-5-13 was John Reisinger born 1755-1765. John born 1755-65 was a taylor in the Hellam tax records in the 1820s. John his son shows up as single in 1820. So 1820 -21= 1799 which is the year of John’s birth according to the cemetery record. Also showing up as single is Daniel Reisinger in 1816 and perhaps a year or two earlier( I didn’t look). Another son Henry shows up married in 1821.
John, the father, is gone from the tax records in 1829. John, John Jr., Daniel and Henry were all listed as taylors or weavers during this time. Peter Reisinger ,who was not in the taxes after 1798 was in Windsor Township in the 1790s and the 1780s and in 1779 he had 149 acres. I think he is the father of John born 1755-1765. John is probably the oldest son mentioned in Peters will.
Peter and Nicholas Risinger were in Windsor in 1762.
