Asphyxiated in Waverly Hotel.

Waverly, NY. Dec. 17.

J. S. Harrington, of Dushore, was found dead at 11 o'clock this morning in a room in the Hotel Fulton, at the corner of Fulton and Erie streets. Death was due to asphyxiation by gas, which came from an open gas burner near the bed upon which the mas was sleeping.

Last night Mr. Harrington, who is a well known Dushore merchant, stopped over in Waverly while enroute to Apalachin. He registered at the Hotel Fulton and before going to his room was warned to turn off the gas jet. This morning the clerk at the hotel called Harrington twice, and receiving no reply, broke open the door and found Harrington lying dead upon the bed. He immediately notified Coroner Betowski, who ordered the remains taken to the Farley undertaking rooms.

Mr. Harrington was about 54 years of age and is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mildred and Mary, and a son, Maurice, at home, and one brother, Joseph, of Buffalo. Relatives came to this place this afternoon and took charge of the remains, which will be taken to Dushore for burial.
