William Dengler, 67, Hit by Automobile, Expires in Hospital

William Dengler, 67, of Taylorsville, died in Ashland State Hospital at 2:15 o'clock this morning from a fracture of the right hip and other injuries sustained on Saturday night, October 28, when hit by an automobile said by police to have been operated by Ray Malick, also of Taylorsville.
Born in Ashland in 1872, Dengler went to Taylorsville with his parents when a boy and lived there until his death.
He was well known throughout that community.
Dengler was a devoted member of the Reformed Church at Taylorsville. His sister, Mrs. Hanna Bolich, died on October 9, 1938.
To survive, he leaves his mother, Mrs. Melinda Dengler, one of the oldest residents in the Taylorsville sector, and the following brothers: Harry, of Ashland; Charles, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; Lewis, of Taylorsville, and Frank, of home.
Dengler was also an uncle of Russell Maurer, ITEM correspondent in that section.
