“Death of Mrs. Henry Eidam”
“Grim Reaper Claims Another of Our Well-Known Residents”
Death has ended the long sufferings of Mrs. Henry Eidam, of 149 North Wyoming street, she having passed away to the great beyond at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Her illness dates back a year, but her condition only became real alarming four weeks ago and her death was not unexpected. Cancer was the cause of her demise.

Mrs. Eidam was born in Germany September 30, 1852. Her maiden name was Anna Martha Most. She came to America with her parents, John and Mrs. Most, 43 years ago, and for this length of time has resided in Hazleton. She was married in 1873. Surviving her are her husband and the following children: Adam, Albert, Henry, George, Charlie, Minnie and Mrs. Calvin Knyrim, of this city, and William, of Elmira. She was a sister to Adam, Jacob, John and Bertha Most, Mrs. John Yeager and Mrs. Smink, all of Hazleton.

Mrs. Eidam was a faithful member of Grace Reformed church. She was not only faithful to her church, but just as faithful in believing that it was her duty as a Christian to do the will of her Master at all times. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need – both in acts of kindness and in words. Much as been taken from the husband, sons and daughters, brothers, sisters, relatives and the large circle of friends; sweet ties have been severed, but much is left. The christian’s hope of fadeless memories are still theirs.
