I’d like to track down further information about a Conrad Frederick who was living in Jefferson Co from at least the 1850s-1890s but may have been there earlier.
Conrad Frederick was born about 1809 or 1813 somewhere in Pennsylvania. He married a woman named Catherine or “Polly” (born about 1813 in Pennsylvania) and had three children with her: Catherine Frederick (born about 1836), Solomon Frederick (born about 1841) and John Frederick (born about 1842). In 1850, the entire family can be seen living in Porter, Jefferson Co. Polly died and Conrad remarried in about 1860 to a widow named Barbara Reitz (born 8 Jan 1823 in Northumberland Co to George and Maria Rebuck Reitz).
Barbar’s first husband Peter Thomas was born about 1822 in Northumberland Co to Michael and Lydia Thomas. The couple married in about 1845 and by 1850 were living in Beaver, Jefferson Co. They had at least six children together: Susannah Thomas (born bout 1843), Peter Thomas II (born about 1848), Margaret Thomas (born about 1852), Mary “Polly” Thomas (born about 1854), Godfrey Thomas (born about 1856) and Matilda Thomas Brosius (born Jul 1859). Peter died shortly after Matilda’s birth and Barabra remarried soon after that.
In 1860, Conrad and Barbara’s mixed family lived together in Beaver, Jefferson Co, where Barbara gave birth to three children: Barbara Elizabeth Frederick Gaston (born 2 Dec 1861 in Porter Twp, Jefferson Co), Samuel Frederick (born about 1865) and Susannah Frederick Long (born about 1868). In 1870, the family was still living in Oliver. Conrad died on 3 Jun 1873. Wife Barbara followed in Dec 1894.
If someone could help me learn more about Conrad (his parents, family, etc) or at least help me track down Frederick/Friederich families in Jefferson Co around this time, I would sincerely appreciate it.
