Okey A. Roberts Sr., age 74, of Aliquippa RD 1, died at 9:40 AM Wednesday,
Jan. 5, 1966, after a short illness.
He was born at Nobe, WV, Feb. 15, 1891.
Mr. Roberts was a retired employe of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Company
He was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Presbyterian Church and the Independent Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Roberts; two daughters, Mrs. Harriett Spraggs, Aliquippa RD, and Mrs.
Eleanor Miller, Clinton RD; four sons, Ernest A. Roberts, Sewickley, Oliver W. Roberts, Clinton RD, Marlin H.
Roberts, Burgettstown RD, and Okey Roberts Jr., Aliquippa RD.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Janet Thomas, South Heights, Mrs. Eva Harris, Holbrook, and Mrs.
Fronell Boyd, Donora; two brothers, Shirley M. Robertsw, Aliquippa RD, and Ardith Roberts, Torrance;
26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends of Oakey A. Roberts Sr., of Aliquippa Rd who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1966, are being received after 7 PM Thursday and again from 2-4 and 7-10 PM Friday in the John E. Welch Funeral Home, Hookstown, where services will be held at 2 PM Saturday. Burial in Mt. Olivet United Presbyterian Cemetery, AAliquippa, Rd.
Wind Ridge- Mr. and Mrs. Okey Roberts, of Aliguippa, Rd 1, who formerly resided in the Nettle Hill-Delphene area, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, April 21.
Open house will be held from 1:30 to 6 PM in the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Miller, of Route 151, aliquippa.
Mrs. Roberts, the former Nellie Kerns, is a daughter of the late Nelson and Rebecca Henderson Kerns. Mr. Roberts is a son of the late Laken and Jane Nichols Roberts.
They have four sons, Ernest, Oliver, Marlin and Oakey, Jr. and two daughters, Mrs. Harriett Spragg and Mrs. Eleanor Miller. A daughter, Mrs. Violet Bradley is deceased and another daughter died in infancy.
