Ulysses G. Roberts, Sr., 72, of Waynesburg RD 4 died at 4:15 AM, Thursday, Jan. 10, 1985,
in Greene County Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.
He was born Feb. 18, 1912, in Wayne Township, a son of Daniel F. and Elizabeth Roupe Roberts.
He had lived in Greene County all his life and been employed by Rohanna Iron and Metal Co. for 16 years.
Mr. Roberts served with the US Army during World War ll.
He was a member of VFW Post 4793 and Chapter 123 of the DAV, both of Waynesburg.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes Shriver Roberts, whom he married Sept. 7, 1950; eight daughters, Martha Roberts
of New Freeport, Mrs. Artie "Martha" Zimmerman of Sycamore, Mrs. John "Mabel" Eddy of Waynesburg,
Mrs. Dennis "Anna" Eibling of Payne, Ohio, Kate Roberts of Waynesburg RD 4, Mrs. Aaron "Peggie" Wyant
of Spraggs, Dixie Roberts of Mt. Morris and Mrs. Michael "Karen" Boyles of Brave; three sons, Ulysses
G. "Buck" Roberts Jr. of Morgantown, WV, James Roberts of Waynesburg and Charles Roberts of Prosperity,
seven grandchildren, and two sisters and one brother.
Two grandchildren, six sisters and two brothers, are deceased.
Friends of Ulysses G. Roberts Sr. of Waynesburg RD 4, who died Thursday, Jan. 10, 1985, will be received
from 2-9 PM Friday in the Glise E. Mariner and Samuel A. Milliken Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden Street,
Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Jan. 12, with the Rev. Kenneth Thomas officiating.
Burial to Pine Bank Cemetery. VFW Post 4793 and DAV Chapter 123 of Waynesburg will conduct graveside
