Ross K. Lewis, 64, former Waynesburg restaurant owner and operator, died at 12:50 AM Friday, Jan. 16, 1959, in his home at Bluff, Pine Bank, RD 2.
His death, caused by a heart ailment, followed an illness of about four weeks and was quite unexpected.
Mr. Lewis, a son of the late Walter and Mary M. Burge Lewis, was born Feb. 19, 1894 in Jackson Township. He resided at Bluff for the past 12 years and prior to that at Waynesburg.
He was in the restaurant business at Waynesburg for some 25 years, retiring about five years ago. At the time of his death he was employed at George Junior Republic, Grove City.
Mr. Lewis was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Waynesburg Lodge 153, F and AM and of Waynesburg Lodge 153, F. and AM and of the Pittsburgh Consistory. He had belonged for 42 years to Waynesburg Lodge 469, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Survivng are his wife, Mrs. A. Frances Crow Lewis; one son, Raymond H. W. Lewis, of Pine Bank, RD 2; three grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Lewis, of Rogersville, Frank Lewis, of Pine Bank, RD 2, Arlan C. Lewis, of Waynesburg, and William Lewis, of Renova, and a nephew, Arlan David Lewis, of Jonesboro, Indiana, whom he raised.
One brother John, is deceased.
