Obit, Oil City Derrick Jan. 22, 1975: Mrs. Ruth E. Thompson of 337 Liberty St., wife of Ralph E. Thompson, died Monday night in Clarion Hospital. She was born in Rimersburg, a daughter of Thomas D. and Helen Slack Stewart. She was married October 7, 1924, to Ralph E. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Untied Methodist Church in Clarion and the United Methodist Women of the church, the Clarion Women's Club, and the Clarion County Democratic Women's Club. She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Thompson: a son, Robert S. Thompson of Shippenville RD; a daughter, Mrs. Donald E. (Helen) Boose of Milwaukee, Wis.; three sisters, Bertha I. Stewart of Clarion, Mrs. Marjorie Stahl of Los Angeles and Mrs. Pauline Gahagan of Darlington, Md.; four brothers, Bryan and Bruce Stewart of Rimersburg, Gene Stewart of Long Island, N.Y., and Edmond Stewart of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Three brothers are deceased. Removal was made to the Gerald L. Goble Funeral Home in Clarion where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today and Thursday and where funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday. Rev. George S. Crooks and Rev. Thomas Brown of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
