Would anyone on the list have information about George Palmer and his sons George and John Palmer per this entry from the PA Archives Series 2, Vol XIX, Chapter "Minutes of the Board of Properties of the Province of Pennsylvania" page 352, from the Session of the Commissioners at Philadelphia the 18th 11th month 1702.
Specifically I am looking for birth and marriage information for George Sr, George Jr and John Palmer referenced below. But any other info would be good as well!
Transcribed just as written: "George Palmer having been above 16 years a Prisoner in Maqueness (see note below) and now returned, having lost all advantages that might have accrned to him by his father;s purechase (of 5,000 acres) to 800 of which, by his will, the said George hath a Right, requests the Comm'rs would Commiserate his Condition and favour him in the Location of the said Land.
Ordered that all the favour within the Commiss'rs power shall be shewn to the said George in the said Location and that when he hath pitched on the County the Curveyor Shall have directions accordingly.
George Palmer and John Palmer, Sons of George Palmer purchaser of 5,000 acres, Caveat against granting a Patent to Jos. Growdon for his Land on Neshamineh untill they can have a Fair hearing for 500 a's laid out in the Bounds of the Lands he claims to their Mother, the Widow Palmer, about which there is a Controversy depending."
Note: Maqueness is in Turkey. There is a book at the Library of Congress titled "Ancestry of Clarence V. Roberts & Frances A. (Walton) Roberts" which has a chapter on George Palmer and Maqueness titled "George Palmer of Surrey, England Captivity of George Palmer, Jr., in Maqueness, Turkey". I have not yet looked at this book.
