Katherine Frances Cole
Katherine Frances Cole was born April 20, 1915, in Bear Creek, Mont., to Frank and Mary (Kavran) Colnar and died peacefully in the care of family on Oct. 22, 2008, in Pacific City at the age of 93.
Katherine was a 1934 graduate of Roseville High School. She married Kenneth Cole on April 18, 1936, in Roseville, Calif.
They moved to Auburn, Calif., and raised their family. She lived in Auburn for 60 years before moving to Pacific City to be near her daughter and granddaughter.
Katherine was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 57 and the Mt. Vernon Grange. She loved to make afghans for family members and cooking desserts such as apple pies and cinnamon buns. Also, she loved to work in her flower garden and always kept it well groomed. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Katherine is survived by her two daughters, Patricia K. Petersen of Pacific City and Susan F. Cole of Scottsdale, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Karen Petersen, Michael Petersen, Susan Fenrich, Stephen Petersen, Kenneth McKenzie, Kate Meadows, Kevin McKenzie and Chris McKenzie; and 10 great-grandchildren.
