A memorial service will be held today for Rosalie K. Klevens of Pleasant Hill, CA., who died June 3 of age-related causes. She was 85. She was born July 15, 1914, in Marshall N.D., to John and Margaret Elhy Fix. She married Lyman Kleven in Eau Calire, Wis., in Dec. 1956. He died Oct. 7, 1995.
She was a photographer for various studios and enjoyed oil painting, fishing, canning, baking, German cooking and baby-sitting. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church.
She had lived in Pleasant Hill for 2 1/2 years. She moved from North Dakota to Seattle in 1939, to Eugene in 1941 and to CA. in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Sherwood of Pleasant Hill; a son, Lewis Gilmore of Martinez, CA.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A daughter Marilyn McCormick, died June, 17, 1983; and a granddaughter, Susan McNamee, died in Sept. 1988.
Today's service will be at 2 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church in Eugene. Entombment will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Assoc.
