WADSWORTH-DOYLESTOWN, OHIO -- Wesley R. Post, age 85, passed away on December 26, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Dad was born in Corning, Ohio, one of eight children.
A World War II veteran, 'Chiz' served with the Army Engineer Combat Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, Central Europe, the Ardennes and in the Battle of the Bulge.
He married Barbara Strole on November 18, 1945.
He was a member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church, Wadsworth Lodge #385, Valley of Canton, 32nd degree Scottish Rite and the Doylestown American Legion #407.
Dad loved to camp, travel, spend time in Bradenton, Florida and fish. He was a carpenter and worked for the East Ohio Gas Company.
Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Post and seven siblings. He is survived by children, Sandra (Dave) Lusk of Wadsworth, Ohio; Dennis (Linda) Post of New Carlisle, Ohio; Gene (Mary) Post of Wadsworth, Ohio; Scott (Tina) Post of Doylestown, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Bob Post.
Funeral service will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown, Ohio with Pastor Dale Warrick officiating.
Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday, december 29, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, Ohio 44230 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
