Paralysis Fatal to Mrs Bainter
Mrs Anna Bainter died at her home in Portland Orgeon early Friday morning January 28, death resulting from a stroke of paralysis which she suffered about two weeks ago. Mrs Bainter was the daughter of the late Jehile and Rachel Buker Abbott and was born in the vicinity of Otsego 67 years ago. She was the widow of Chas N Bainter also of Otsego and at one time sheriff of Muskingum County. While living in Zanesville Mrs Bainter was a member of St John's Lutheran Church and was prominent in lodge circle being a past Worthy Matron of the order of the Eastern Star and a supreme officer of the Royal Neighbors. About 21 years ago the family moved to Oregon settling on a farm near Portland. After the death of Mr Bainter several years ago, Mrs Bainter moved to Portland. Mrs Bainter was a woman of rare personal charm and was admired by a wide circle of friends. She is survived by one daughter Mrs Wade Kennedy of Portland and two sons Ernest Bainter of Zanesville and Emmett of Sheridan Oregon; two brothers O H and W H Abbott of Otsego and eight grandchildren. Short funeral services will be held at the home of Ernest Bainter in Zanesville on arrival of the body which is expected at 1:25 Friday afternoon. The remains will be brought to the New Hope church Saturday at 12 o'clock where further services will be held and interment made in the church cemetery.
