North Baltimore – Mabel Sterling, 73, of 320 W. State St., died Monday morning in Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
Mrs. Sterling was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, serving two terms as president; the Legion Auxiliary; and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, North Baltimore.
She was born June 12, 1915, in Ferndale, Hancock County, to Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Mansfield (Jessie Wheeler). She married John W. Sterling Oct. 22, 1929 in Covington, Ky.
He survives, along with two sons, Robert, Bald Knob, Ark., and Thomas, Findlay; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Routson, Findlay; two brothers, Marvin, Florida, and Robert, Cave Creek, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Donna Billingsly, Findlay and Mrs. Mary Miklovic and Mrs. Ellen Carnicorn, both of North Baltimore; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 10 step great-grandchildren.
Two sons, James and Marvin, one brother, William; and two sisters, Elizabeth Altman and Cora DeVaul preceded her in death.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore. Burial will be in Old Maplewood Cemetery. Rev. James Sisk will officiate.
Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
