Carol J. Faithful, 79 of Zanesville, Ohio died 7:30 AM Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Cedar Hill Care Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born Thursday, April 20, 1933 in Coshocton, Ohio the daughter of Paul E. Dicken and Eleanor V. (Liggins) Stevens.
She married Melvin E. Faithful on Saturday, December 10, 1977 and was a member of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ.
Carol retired from General Electric due to an illness. She was previously employed with Community Action Agency.
She loved working in and supporting the community. Among other community activity, she took pride in working at the voting polls during elections. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, shopping & more shopping & spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband: Melvin E. Faithful; four children Robert Bruce (Jennifer) Newman of North Carolina, Crystal (Raymond) Wallace of Cleveland, Ohio, Gail (Edgar) Romine of Zanesville, Ohio and Dawnita J. Newman of Florida; ten grandchildren; LaMont Scott, Sara & Jonathan Fields; Megan & Jordan Romine; Mark & Ryan Newman; Alyssa Green and Ashawna Newman, eight great grandchildren and one sister Barbara (Harold) Glover of Columbus; nieces and nephews and many very special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father: Alfred E. Stevens; one brother: Paul E. "Buddy" Dicken Jr.; two sons: Steven E. Newman and Mark S. Newman

Visitation to be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2012, at The Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 South State Street, where funeral services will be held at 7:00PM with Elder Terrence Brown officiating.

Private burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, Liturgical Dancers Fund, 1651 South State Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 in Carol's memory.

Faithful, age 76 of Zanesville, OH died 8:48 AM, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Cedar Hill Care Center in ZanesvilleHe was born Friday, November 4, 1938 in Zanesville the son of Melvin Faithful and Inez (Williams) Faithful. He was married on Saturday, December 10, 1977 to Carol (Dickens) Faithful who preceded him in death on October 4, 2012. Melvin retired form Mid-Atlantic Cannery (Coca-Cola).He is survived by one step-son Robert Bruce (Jennifer) Newman of Durham, NC; three step-daughters Gail (Edgar) Romine of Zanesville, Crystal (Raymond) Wallace of Cleveland, OH and Dawnita Newman of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters Sharon "Sue" (Ronald) Curtis of MD, Phyllis McPherson of Massillon, OH and Gail Paige (Jeff) Curtis of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister Saundra Henderson.Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH. A funeral service to celebrate Melvin's life will be held 12 noon on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home 935 Forest Avenue Zanesville OH with Elder Terrence E. Brown officiating. Burial will conclude in the Woodlawn Cemetery Zanesville where Melvin will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Carol.
