I am researching the life and times of Dr. Mogens M. Uhenholt (born Oct. 15th 1876 in Denmark - wed to Eline Arildsen, born April 18th 1875 in Cedar Falls, Iowa).
The couple went to Nigeria in 1916 as missionaries under the Danish branch of the International Sudan Mission. There they both suffered and died from malaria in 1919 and 1920.
At the Royal Danish National Archive I've found a note and photo of a memorial stone that should have been set up in Westby, Montana, North Dakota in October 1927.
Apparently Mogens Uhrenholt lived here in his first year(s) in the States - 1902-1903.
See the old pic and a text from the note (in Danish) here:http://www.smartcms.dk/user/uhrenholt/vis.php?side=sider/nda...
I have, however no other trace of his life here, but only later, when he moved to Chicago and Racine, Wisconsin.
Do you have any chance of connecting me with people in or around Westby, who might know anything of this memorial stone/site or anything else related to Dr. Mogens M. Uhrenholt from Denmark. Thank you.
you can follow my ongoing research on hs life - some text and video are to be found both in Danish and ENGLISH.
