LAWSONVILLE - Zeola Williams Hutchens, 91, of 3083 Sisk Road, died Tuesday, April 2, 2007, at Walnut Cove Healthcare Center.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, with the Rev. Billy Nelson and the Rev. Melvin Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Our Family Cemetery, Lawsonville.
Mrs. Hutchens was born in Stokes County on Feb. 19, 1916, to the late Henry and Linda Nelson Williams.
She was retired from Washington Mills, Inc.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Charles Hutchens and a daughter, Shirley Hutchens Ashby.
Survivors include her son Lewis (Norma Jean) Hutchens of Lawsonville; and daughter, Josephine Hutchens Ore of Pine Hall; brother, Sandy Williams of Lawsonville; sister, Bettie Watkins of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Kaye (Reuben) Webb, Rickey (Teresa) Hutchens, Rita (Joel) Nance, Ronnie Hutchens, Robin (David) Gammons, Sharon Duncan, Karen (Tommy) Dills, Kathy Taylor, Mike (Maira) Ore and Mark (Sandra) Ore; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, April 4, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the residence. A special thanks to the staff at Walnut Cove Health Care for their excellent care and love shown to Zeola "Z" and her family during her illness and death. Colonial Funeral Home in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
