GERMANTON - William "Bill" Charles Tyler, with his family by his side, was called home by God after a long battle with liver cancer on Friday, July 2, 2004.
He was born July 18, 1929, in Richmond, Va., to the late Leonard Joseph Tyler and Maude Latcher Tyler.
He was the president and owner of Leesburg Lighting and Electrical Supply Inc. in Leesburg, Va., until he sold his company and retired in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Mason Tyler and his daughter, Patricia Ann Ferguson.
Surviving are two daughters, "Beth" Marian Elizabeth Premo and husband Marvin Premo Jr. of Germanton and Nancy Jean Lavarine and her fiance, Roger Mukai of Leesburg, Va. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Eric Joseph Premo, Michael Cory Premo, Jennifer Anne Lavarine, Joseph William Larvarine, Ariel Deandra Mukai, Christina Martin Fields and Steven Ferguson Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Alan Fields, Jaden Elizabeth Premo and Cameron Faith Lemley. Also surviving are a sister, Ann F. Glenn of Richmond, Va.; and a very special cousin, Sonny Gartzke Jr. of Richmond, Va.
The family would like to thank some very special friends of Bill's, Butch Fletcher, Adle Joseph, Lisa, Gary and Naomi Hensley of Leesburg, Va., and Carolyn W. McDuff of Las Vegas, Nev., and all the staff of Hospice of Stokes County for all their loving support. At Bill's request, there will be no funeral. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Vienna, Va. In memory and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Stokes County, P.O.
