Well, by looking at the North Carolina formation maps, I can see what you are referring to. Since the Arney family resided in what was once Tryon County, and later became Lincoln County, and the close relationships of Lincoln County with Burke and Caldwell Counties, it's entirely possible that he may have died and was actually buried in Burke County in 1802, but when Caldwell County was created in 1841, that the cemetery he was buried in, was then in Caldwell County. After all, his wife died 60 years after him. Finding the land records, has been a chore, to say the least. Thank you, for your response and your insight, I appreciate it. I wish I could remember where I found the information about where he was buried, because the person stated that he died on 10/16/1802, and his grave marker stated A. L. Arney.
