The Lenora King that I am referring to was born about 1791. She was the daughter of Street Ashford and Ann Bryan. Lenora first married George King, whose origin I still cannot determine. After George King died, Lenora married Aquilla Norman in 1823. Aquilla was probably the son of Jeremiah Norman and his first wife Elizabeth Woodbury. Aquilla was ten years younger than Lenora at this time. Lenora Ashford King Norman divorced Aquilla Norman in December 1824. Lenora and Aquilla eventually sold all land that had belonged to Lenora and her children by George King (who were minors at the time). This land had come from the Street Ashford estate. Aquilla Norman apparently left Bladen County about 1828. I don't know where he went. Lenora Ashford King Norman probably moved in with son-in-law Joseph Allen about 1831. Joseph and Anna King Allen's first child was born in 1831. Lenora Ashford King Norman was living in the Joseph Allen household in the 1850 census.
