Jeremiah Norman appears to have been quite an active figure in early Bladen County records. He married Mary Woodbury Richardson, who had been previously married to Amos Richardson (d. 1817). Mary is listed in the will of R. Woodbury of South Carolina. Jeremiah and Mary Norman were the parents of Mary Norman, Sarah Bailey Norman, Thomas James Norman, and Carolina Emily Norman, all born after 1817. Jeremiah died between 15 February, 1841 and 31 August, 1844. It appears that Jeremiah had a brother, Aquilla Norman whom there is barely any reference to. Aquilla was the second husband of Lenora Ashford King (b. 1791), daughter of Street Ashford of Bladen, and widow of George King. Aquilla and Lenora did not have any children. They were married posterior to 3 April, 1823 and divorced on 16 December, 1824. Where did Jeremiah and Aquilla Norman originate? Can anyone trace any of the children of Jeremiah Norman? These families lived on the NW side of the Cape Fear between present day Tarheel and Dublin.
