I just got back (last week) from a three-week genealogy vacation in Anson
County, NC and all over VA. I took lots of photos. I have great pictures of
Eli Barrett's headstone ( one from the Barrett Cemetery - probably where he was buried and his other headstone with wife Elizabeth Thomas Harrell at Mt. Olive Baptist Church
Cemetery.) William Alexander Barrett Sr. has 2 headstones also. One in
the Barrett Cemetery and one in Marshville Cemetery. It seems the wives
were buried separately from their husbands but chose to include husbands
name on their head stones or maybe they had their husbands moved?

I also have excellent pictures of Martha & Domonick's headstones along
with others buried in the Barrett Cemetery also some in the Rushing and Marshville Cemeteries . My line is as follows:

1 Domonick Barrett 1773 - 1840 +Martha Faircloth 1785 - 1852
2 Thomas Barrett 1810 - 1887 + Jane Eleanor Carelock 1817 - 1891
3 William A. Barrett 1838 - 1887 + Emmaline Peoples Harrell
4 William Alexander (Jr.) Barrett 1879 - 1932 + Emma Elton

I have an unknown tin-type picture, which may be my Thomas Barrett.
(I know Tom's picture is on a web site somewhere. Dale Deason, who
started up the Anson County web site, scanned it in for me) I have one
picture of W.A. Barrett Sr. (perhaps in his Confederate uniform) and
several of his 1887 plantation home in White Store (now torn down). And,
of course, I have several pictures of my grandfather W.A. Barrett Jr.

I also have the 31 page pamphlet by W. Burnette Burch and Mary Barrett
Blair's 1965 White Store Clubhouse 31 page manuscript. These are the two
earlier documents which were expanded upon by Mary Lou Redfearn
Medlin's for her book "My People". (I am into primary sources)

I am willing to share any information that I have. Unfortunately, I have
learned from the past few years, that only about 2 in 10 people who
promise to reimburse me for my expenses, actually do. This genealogy
hobby is getting too expensive to "just give copies of primary sources
away", especially when the family circle keeps expanding and Kinko's
charging me 7 cents a copy. I like to disseminate information as much as
possible because the more people we have working on our families roots,
the more of the missing pieces of the puzzle come together. I wish I were
more computer literate to be able to create a web site for all to access my information.

I still have yet to sort out all the new information and pictures I
acquired during my vacation. If you are interested in any of the things
mentioned above, let me know and I'll send you a list of which each item
costs me to copy and mail. I look forward to hearing from you.
Your distant cousin,

Patty Barrett Emerson
